Slap the goon

Established in the Summer of 05/06 Byron Bay.. Australia

'Goon' - An Australian term referring to affordable wine, cask wine or boxed wine. Usually housed in a Silver 'bladder'. (Sauce of the Silver Sun)

STG started from our experiences watching those around us having carefree, loose, but fun times. Whether it's a hard week at uni or work, a weekend surfing or on the backpacker trail, one common denominator is cask wine, also known as 'Goon'. Crew get around the table, share stories and have a good laugh.

Slap the Goon is about connecting people and bringing them together in ways that create good times and great memories.

That's what it's all about, no more, no less.

We decided to play tribute to the 'goon' and its merry ways with our Classic Tee. We now bring you many more designs and our own range of Cask Wine.

So 'Join the Revolution', tell your friends and 'Let the Goon Times Roll'.

More info on this site.

Earth Sandwich

Let's make a sandwich with the earth as "spread". I'm exactly on the other side of the planet (for the Belgian crowd) so we got an unique opportunity to make a giant sandwich. I placed my loaf of bread in Centennial park in Sydney and uploaded the photo to this map. If you do the same we'll have an Earth Sandwich!!!!

View earth sandwich in a larger map

Sounds too complicated? I've tried to make a dummy proof drawing:

Start making your own sandwich!

(kudos to Ze Frank for the original idea!)

Very tempting!!

It's life Jim, but not as we know it

Sydney getting ready for the release of the new Star Trek movie with a red carpet event at the opera house.

Did you ever noticed the striking similarity between the opera house and the Star Trek logo?

Couch in Sydney

After staying 1 night in a hotel near the station I found a last minute couch in a very nice part of town (border Paddington and Kings cross). It's just above the café you see in the streetview frame, just tilt the picture slightly with your cursor.

I'm couchsurfing with Russell. He's a really cool dude from New York who's been working in interactive media in Sydney for 2,5 years now.

Lot's of Kudos to Russel for letting me surf his couch on such a short notice and showing me around in Sydney!

No Foz in Oz!

I haven't seen 1 poster, flag, sticker, glass,...of Foster's. Ozzies just don't drink it. Like in Belgium every town has got his favorite beer. Melbourne drinks VB, Sydney drinks Carlton. Up till now my pick would be James Squire, which I happily consumed at the oldest pub of Sydney called "Fortune of war" (near the Rocks).

But don't drink Foster's...

First day in Sydney

Was a bit of a gray day...decided to go for a long walk and stumbled upon the harbour bridge and the opera house.
